All 3 tents are up and furnished The Hub is complete and looking great the toilet and shower are working as they should be and green things are growing out of the ground!! Must be approaching Spring here on the Isle of Skye!!
The winter has been a wild one with extremely high winds and more rain than normal (I seem to say that every year!!) We are coming out of the back of winter now but it still throws out the occasional snow flurry and our temperatures have barely reached above 10 degrees! Skye's Spring always appears about a month after Spring down South so any day soon we are going to have a run of calm settled weather and some sunshine?
We have had our first visitors this season on the day we opened. The guys were a lovely group of students, mostly from Spain (Valencia & Barcelona) and they really appreciated the social space in The Hub with the wood burning stove keeping them warm from the cold Easter winds. The guys had some great adventures around Skye and left the place immaculately clean and tidy (Unlike my student days!) They also left some lovely comments which was great to hear and read :)
We have also had our good friend Wayne and his faithful dog Jezz come and stay for a couple of days, Wayne and Jezz have spent the last 3 Hebridean Springs camping in the Hebrides and getting to know the people, the places and the wildlife. Wayne spent the first 2 years doing this in his canvas bell tent and showing how really tough and versatile these tents are even running some emergency repairs in storm force winds when one of the poles snapped and replacing it with a tree!! You can follow Wayne's continuing adventures on Facebook by liking The Hebrides 2014 page.
We are now using Airbnb for bookings and enquiries which is getting us lots of bookings from foreign travellers and looking forward to meeting them and also using UK Campsites, we will be on Cool Camping also very soon so lots of ways to see what we are about and decide if Skye Eco Bells is for you and your friends/family/loved ones.
Lots of people requesting our website details so apologies but this is in progress at the moment and we've seen glimpses and it's looking fantastic and we'll get it up and running as soon as possible and big thanks to Cat for the great work she has done so far :)
Lastly a big thank you to all our likers on Facebook where we are at almost 500 organic likers and over on Twitter over a 1000 followers! We are humbled that our idea from years ago has come to fruition and that people are interested in what we do and want to visit us here on Skye. It's an iconic island and is genuinely one of those places you must visit, check out the pics on here, Facebook and Twitter and Google Skye and whet your appetite and hopefully we'll see one day?
Happy travelling and camping!

Skye Eco Bells
Friday, 13 March 2015
It's nearly that time to open for the full season at Easter!! We have our first bookings and it's filling up nicely at Skye Eco Bells.
We have some nice weather on the way and we can finally complete those finishing touches. New signs for the entrance, mini decks for the tents, planting (lots of planting!!) 100's of new trees planted, veg garden being sown, spring flowers popping up all over the place, chickens starting to lay again. It's all looking great for the new season and a bit of sunshine always helps.
We have had a very wet and wild winter and battled through crazy winds to get the place looking as good as possible. We hope you can come and check us out, the website is coming along nicely and leaflets, flyers and business cards soon also. As always with us it's up to the wire but that's how we roll and we probably wouldn't have it any other way! :)
Looking forward to meeting some great folk this season and having the opportunity to share this beautiful Island and it's many stunning places.
Give us a shout through Facebook or Twitter or find us on UKCampsites.co.uk and explore Skye and stay in somewhere unique and cosy whilst you do so.
All the best
